I learned this from Nancy Thomas...
When I was trying to get my 6yo daughter to brush her teeth, I would reinforce that behavior (brushing teeth) with Pazzaz. Here is how it works: go way overboard with your reaction to the behavior that she/he did a good job with. For example:
She brushed her teeth, so I have to say "Wow, your teeth are so clean, they shine", Oh my Gosh, they are too bright, they are hurting my eyes, Wait I have to put on my sunglasses" so I go put on my sunglasses. and say "Wheew, that's better."
She laughs and I laugh and she wants to have a repeat the next day, so she brushes her teeth really well, and the Command performance is repeated.
