Eulogy To My Dream Child
I kneel at this tombstone of the child of my dreams,
and think back to the time when my home was serene.
I brush away the dirt and notice your gravesite is unkept.
So many times over you I have desperately wept.
I ponder now, when did I finally let you go?
Was it when I searched my soul?
I dreamt of dancing with you in my arms.
I dreamt of your personality, your sincerity and charm.
I laid you to rest in the grassy meadow,
and left you behind so that I could grow.
You'll never be forgotten as I can still salvage some hope,
and because of this I will continue to cope.
