Mom and Dad's Request

Will someone help our daughter, please,
She's somehow lost her way,
Will someone finally listen,
To what we have to say...
No, we're not professionals,
We're just her Mom and Dad,
But the way the system's treating her
Is really very sad.
We're feeling very beaten,
We know that help is needed,
But all our years of effort
Leave us feeling quite defeated.
If there's anybody out there,
Who can offer some advice,
Some guidance and some comfort,
Well, that would sure be nice...
Instead of placing blame on us,
Walk in our shoes awhile,
Feel what we are feeling,
Don't sit there in denial.
Our family means the world to us,
That's what we are about,
Our daughter left a gaping hole,
The nite that she moved out.
We may NOT have given birth to her,
Yet we love her like no other;
Cuz very simply stated,....
We're her Father and her Mother.
We need a special person,
To help break down the walls,
We need a special person,
To catch her when she falls.
So if you can really fault us
For making this request,
I'm sorry, she's our daughter...
She deserves the very best!
We pray, Dear God,
that you will keep her safe
and help her to know she is loved.
