Once More
by Chrissy
Once more I cry behind this smile.
Once more I stuff this guilt for awhile.
Once more you look right through me.
Once more I wonder, will you ever see...
My love, my tenderness,
my hopes and dreams for you.
If only you would let me mother you,
I wonder then what you would do.
Once more I pick up the pieces of this broken home.
Once more I must mend the hearts so tattered and torn.
Once more I lay my head to sleep and pray,
that tommorow I will have the strength to make it through another day.
Once more I imagine holding you
and looking into your eyes,
and I dream you are looking back
and you are not behind your bitter cold disguise.
Once more I cancel a social event.
Once more I spend my time with my spouse,
and we can not talk, we only vent.
Once more I reflect on my greatest enemy,
the voice in your head that will not let you be.
Once more I will caress your temple at night.
I will quietly promise you that I will not give up this fight.
I will undermind every ugly word that my enemy tells you.
I will prove him wrong, I WILL mother you.
