TLP RAD MOM RETREAT
Thursday, July 17 - Sunday, July 20, 2008
Lincoln Lake
Greenville, Michigan
Suz has already reserved a sunny lakefront cottage with a deck overlooking Lincoln Lake, as well as a small shady log cabin that is located about 20 steps away from the cottage.
For those of you who will be driving in... we can provide you with detailed directions to get to Lincoln Lake.
For those of you who will be flying in... we can provide transportation from the Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids, Michigan (on Thursday) to Lincoln Lake. We can also provide transportation back to the airport (on Sunday.)
Please consider joining us for a long weekend of rest and relaxation. Feel free to bring along that book that you've been wanting to read, your knitting, or whatever it is you like to do to relax. Also, please feel free to bring along your favorite game... so that you can teach us how to play it.
We will have access to both a paddleboat and a canoe. Sometime on Saturday, we hope to be offering everyone a pontoon boat ride with tubing (for anyone who might be brave enough to try this.)
The cabin has a large fire pit for late night campfires, and for roasting hot dogs and marshmallows. The cottage has a pool table in the basement.
For your convenience, the refrigerators at both the cottage and the cabin will be fully stocked with a large variety of homemade foods (that can be easily microwaved), and also with lots of yummy baked goods. If any of you would like to prepare a meal to share... you are more than welcome to do so.
Smoking is not allowed inside the cabin or the cottage at any time, but smokers can feel free to step outside to smoke.
Alcoholic Beverages are allowed... but I will not be carrying anyone to bed.
Sleeping accommodations for the cabin include one double bed (in bedroom one), one set of bunk beds (in bedroom two), and a futon (in the livingroom).
Sleeping accomodations for the cottage include one double bed (upstairs bedroom), a trundle bed (in the enclosed porch), a futon (in the livingroom), a set of bunkbeds (in the basement), and a sleeping chair (in the livingroom.) Cots and mattresses can be brought in to accomodate more people if needed... and there is a small nursery that could become a sleeping room if we brought a cot in there.
A pair of water shoes is recommended for those of you who will be swimming.
The cost of this long weekend of relaxation (including meals) will be $100 per person ... excluding any travel costs.
If you are planning to attend, please RSVP (by email) before June 15th, 2008.
I look forward to meeting some of you...
-Suz
PS. NO CHILDREN ALLOWED!!!!!!!!
A Note from Suz...
I hope that these dates work out for everyone that would like to come. This is the ONLY extended weekend that I could get both the cottage and the cabin at the same time, and I really think it would be good to have a little more sleeping space just in case there's a lot of interest.
The cabin can sleep 5 or 6 people, depending on how cozy you want to get in there. lol The cottage can sleep 8 or more... and we can always pull in twin mattresses or cots and spread them out around the place.
I spent a night sleeping in the enclosed porch that looks out over the lake, and it was soooooooooooooooooooo beautiful and peaceful to wake up with the sun shining on me. I remember laying there forever watching an older gentleman fishing. It's not a HUGE cottage but I think we will all be very comfortable there.
Below is a tentative list of the RAD Mom's who are planning to attend.

I would like everyone to mail me the $100 by July 1st so that I can pay for the cottage
and cabin. The remainder of the money will be used to buy lots of food and beverages to stock the refrigerators with.
Please let me know if you are planning to drive, or if you will need me to provide transportation for you from the airport to Lincoln Lake (and back).
Also, please let me know well in advance if any of you are on any special diet, or if you
have any food allergies. We want to make sure that everyone has a wonderful weekend.
