Sibling Rivalry

We remember the days before he was here-
Now it's so different, you see-
How it all happened is not very clear
We wonder if we'll ever be free-
We're prisoners in this jail called "home"
He's the warden without a heart-
Will we all die before he is grown
Or will he just rip us apart?
We hide in our room day after day
To avoid the battle at hand-
There's a million things we want to say,
But who would understand?
The warden takes up all of the time
Keeping dear Mama in tears-
Someone should make this treatment a crime
To end this nightmare of fears-
We do all the chores as he rages about-
We hide all our stuff 'cause he steals-
He'll make us all pay, he always shouts
As he paints our home in "surreal"-
We are ghost children in this home of ours,
Who'll grow up in spite of it all-
We just hope there won't be many scars,
And we turn out somewhat norm-al
