T's 10th Birthday - May 26, 2009

by T. Grace's Mom

T. turned 10 today. I am still trying to process how my "baby" could be a decade old already. We have a small celebration planned for tonight with just parents and grandparents. A pizza dinner (her favorite) with cake, ice cream, and a few presents. This morning before school she said that she wanted to go ride her horse for her birthday, so we will be spending the late afternoon at the stable.

She has been doing so very well lately. I am so proud of the progress she has made. She still needs some work on controlling her mouth and her anger; but I see some real growth starting to take place. She is starting to realize cause and effect, which means that she is accepting correction more often and needing it less often. I also see that she is attempting to take on some responsibility. Now, if we could just get past those control issues.

Thanks to all my TLP friends who have been immense support to our family for the past 6 years!   For those of you who are new RAD parents, it does get better.
