All you Special Education people who think that these kids are just faking it, back of! I am proud of my son whom has worked so hard to overcome all he has been through, and here you are pushing him to do more than he can. Not all people grow up to go to college and it doesn’t matter one bit if he doesn’t! He will be a great man at what ever he chooses to do in life because he is determined, not because he went to college! What is important to my son is that you teach him to READ and write and do math. The stuff he needs to survive in the real world. Stop trying to teach a child that can’t read, to do science and social studies. Stop trying to teach a child that can’t read English, to read Spanish. Stop trying to teach a child that can't do simple math without a calculator, to do algebra; because you are hurting him for God sake. He needs to learn the fundamentals and you are stressing him out so bad that he is slipping away from me. I am already fighting to keep my RAD son from slipping away. I am already fighting to keep my two sexually abused daughters from slipping away from me, because of all they have been through.
Please I beg you, please don’t cause My Son to slip away from me, just because you can’t see that he is doing the best he can. He is not Just Mean. He is not Stupid, and he is not just out to make your life miserable. He is a Young man who has traveled through far more Crap in his short life than you have ever seen, or will ever see in your lifetime. He is a fighter who has accomplished more in his lifetime than you or any of those "educated" people ever will!
He is a winner, and will win this Battle if you will just back off and except him for who he is, and help him accomplish what he can accomplish. You call him mean. Well I see a loving little boy who loves kisses and hugs, and who will rub your feet when they hurt and tell you it's ok when you cry. If you would quit pushing him to do what he can’t do, and start helping him; you would see this child too. You should have to live the life he has, then you would know compassion like he does.
Back off before you break my son's spirit. I have already buried two children, and I fight to keep the other five that I still have ALIVE each day! Please don’t kill my son’s spirit!
